Micro-needling is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that use micro injuries to the skin to trick your body into thinking you have a major injury. Immediately, your body’s natural healing process will kick in and begin to lay layers of collagen and elastin, which are proteins in your body, to beef up your injuries, making the skin stronger. In this process, your skin will begin to tighten, which helps to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles. Micro-needling is also used to treat acne scars, skin pigmentations, stretch marks, and hair loss. In the case of acne scars or skin pigmentations, micro-needling will create a new layer of skin as the old layer peels away, effectively lessening the scars significantly.

The microneedling device uses sterile, individually sealed, disposable needle cartridges for optimal patient safety and comfort.

The microneedling treatments are combined with an infusion of vitamins, amino acids, peptides, nucleic acids and skin hydrators for optimum results.

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, microneedling involves making multiple tiny pinpricks in the skin. As the skin heals these pinpricks, it uses the infused cocktail to build new collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans (hyaluronic acid), resulting in tighter, plumper and healthier skin.

For best results, we recommend a short course of microneedling treatments between 3-6, 4 weeks apart. After which you will notice your skin looks brighter, firmer and younger. You might also want to consider an individual treatment that can be effective if you simply want to give your skin a boost before a special event!

Microneedling can be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas are the forehead, between the eyebrows, nose, around the eyes, cheeks, around the mouth and for improving the appearance of scar tissue, fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to treat acne scarring, other light scarring, stretch marks and skin pigmentation elsewhere on the body.

We will advise you at your initial consultation how many treatments will be needed to achieve your desired results.

In the majority of cases, you will not need to take any time out after the procedure to recover, although you may experience some redness for 12- 48 hours.

  • Micro-needling provides visible improvement in the skin in a few short days

  • Micro-needling reduces permanent damage or injury of the skin

  • Micro-needling reduces risk of infection, bruising, and skin discoloration from the procedures

Many people just weren’t getting the results they were seeking when doing Botox injections only. However, when used in conjunction with micro-needling, the anti-ageing effects are compounded as different areas of the skin are treated and affected. As usual, you’ll need to maintain your daily skin routine, especially on the days immediately after. Using serums for microneedling, such as those offered by us, will further promote healing of your skin and help to improve your results.

Micro-needling is incredibly powerful and incredibly versatile. Micro-needling with Botox can provide the results you are seeking as well for your anti-ageing regimen.

Some clients notice results immediately after treatment and a lovey “Glow”, but visible results can develop over the course of several weeks and your skin can continue to improve over 6 months after treatment.

Both use needles. In the case of Botox, the bacteria is injected into the desired muscles. In the case of microneedling, the micro-needling device or microneedling pen will make thousands of tiny micro-injuries to your skin. Both treat the signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox works to smooth the skin; microneedling treats the actual skin itself. Botox requires life-long maintenance every three to six months in order to maintain results. microneedling, on the other hand, while requiring multiple sessions to achieve desired results, lasts longer depending on the results the patient is seeking. Usually, treatment overall is recommended every six to nine months for microneedling. Botox results are immediate. Micro-needling, since it stimulates the skin to rejuvenate, takes a few months to see the full results; however, some results are seen immediately.

While treating the same skin conditions (fine lines and wrinkles), both act differently. Some practitioners are recommending using both in their anti-ageing regimen. For example, you can use micro-needling to improve the surface of your skin and strengthen the lower layers. Botox, because it stops what causes many signs of ageing (such as smiles and frowning) help improve results in the long term.

Needling at home can be very risky, the drawbacks of needling at home mean you are at risk of infections, fewer impact results and potential skin damage leaving, track marks, bruising and eventually scars leaving you with permanently damaged skin.  Shop bought needling machines or dermarollers are unable to penetrate as far as our devices and you will more than likely not achieve your desired results, you also run the risk of bent needles and not being made of a reputable material! It is very alarming what you can buy online now!

Asa qualified practitioner I understand all contraindications of the skin, what to avoid and what not to avoid.  We also have access to the correct topical solutions specifically designed for microneedling and you will NOT be able to buy these online!  Ordinarily, when you purchase an online topical solution your skin will be able to filter out some of the ingredients such as silicones, essential oils, fragrances and preservatives but as you puncture your skin with derma rolling or microneedling these ingredients will no longer be filtered and could potentially trigger an immune reaction which can lead to skin sensitivity, allergic reactions and rashes.  One common cause of microneedling at home is Granuloma, Granuloma is a condition whereby white blood cells of the immune system engulf a foreign object but are unable to eliminate it, leading to granulated lumps under the skin.
